WALLS: A Play for Palestine is a new play written by Summer Ghasan Awad and directed by David Ratliff. The play describes the conflict between a second-generation immigrant and her Palestinian father as she comes to terms with the troubled history of her heritage. WALLS was a finalist for the Henley Rose Playwright Competition for Women.
WALLS premiered with great success at the Clarence Brown LAB Theatre on January 14-17, 2016. Since the premiere, WALLS has been accepted to The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), the largest multi-arts festival in North America. Thousands of shows are submitted to FringeNYC each year, and about 200 are selected. This year’s festival, the 20th anniversary of FringeNYC, will take place August 12-28, 2016.
